Wine matching of a different Note.

So I have been listening to The Clash album Sandanista! lately and I started thinking that I wanted match a wine to the music. To match this music I thought it should be complex, maybe a bit unusual and make some sort of statement. Do I choose white or red? White would complement the summery feel of some of the songs where a red would add a bite the political side of the songs. For a white wine I was thinking about a Gewürztraminer with is tropical Litchi fruit flavours and for red I am thinking about a Zinfandel, a lighter slightly spicy red with a sordid past. The more I think about this both types should match this album well and since I had no Gewürz I went with Ravenswood Vintners Blend Zinfandel.

Ravenswood – Vintners Blend
Zinfandel
2002 – 13.5%
$16

Appearance – Med violet core with a small ruby rim. The wine sticks to the side of the glass just as An Italian mobster shoots a lobster

Nose – ¾ complexity, Intense – Jammey Bramble, cherry, grape jelly aromas right when the Hitsville hits UK

Palate – Dry, Low Acid, Low Tannins, Light Body, Average alcohol, short length, Med Good Balance, Easy to drink with the Junco Partner

Overall – Needs more complexity to go with The Crooked Beat, The Junkie Slip or the gospel sounding The Sound of Sinners. Also the length is lost by the time you get to Shepherds Delight. Would go well with Jack Johnson, Sublime or Bebel Gilberto.
