Cava Grapes
Why don’t you see table wine available that is made from the grapes that makes Cava? I mean Champagne has Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, two great grapes that can make great table wine, but you don’t often see great table wine made from Macabea, Paellada, Xarello and Monstrell. You don’t see acronyms like ABM- Anything But Macabeo, or on-line discussions about too much oak being added to California Parellada, or a club that has been created to bring together all the fans of Xarello or a movie where two buddies decide to go to Penendes to taste their way through the regions best Monstrell. Cava is not bad…sometimes I prefer it to Champagne.
I am going to go look for some!
